The first time I found a gray hair, I was devastated. Then something happened that was even worse–I started losing my hair. I took no comfort that I was among 30 million American women in a similar situation. I felt depressed and alone. I could feel people observing me. I began to rethink every action I was taking–I changed my shampoo, I stopped brushing my hair all the, I stopped wearing a hat. Finally, a dear friend convinced me to adopt one step back and incredibly look at that which was occurring. That is what I want to share with you today–five factors behind thinning hair in females.

On a day, about 90% of one’s tresses are growing and 10% is resting. Every 3 months or so, the resting hair is lost along with a new hair grows in its place. At a very basic level, thinning hair occurs you lose an excessive amount of resting hair and/or once the number of new hairs arriving declines. In some regards, similar issues causing thinning and balding in your husbands and boyfriends are plaguing us too. In other situations, women are unique and possess different needs.

First, the reason for baldness in several women is simply genetics.
